Tyler V
CEO, husband and father of four
From feeling stuck at work and bringing the pressure home to leading with confidence and being more present with his family.
Where he was
Tyler was successful by every outside measure. Senior leader. Provider. Father of four. But he felt stagnant at work, and the pressure didn’t stay at the office. It came home with him.
His whole sense of who he was had been built around one company. “I literally could not conceive a life after my old company until like two months after I left.”
“I was spending an enormous amount of time, energy and effort to build an identity around something that I didn’t need to be confident.”
The moment he decided
He had already tried working harder. It hadn’t moved anything.
“If it were only about effort, you would have solved your challenges already. But it’s not just about effort. It’s about perspective, habits and psychology. For that you need a coach.”
What we built
We didn’t try to fix everything at once. We built small anchors he could hold on a heavy day: a walk, closing the laptop on purpose, planning tomorrow before tomorrow arrived.
“By going on a walk or by closing my laptop and planning my day, I get to maintain some of that control.”
“There really are a million things that need to be fixed, but I’m just like, hey, one thing at a time, one day at a time.”
“I’m not just performing at a higher level. I’m thinking, acting and showing up differently everywhere.”
What changed
At work: he went from feeling stagnant to stepping into a CEO role.
At home: fewer arguments, faster recovery from tension and more intentional presence.
Inside: greater confidence, clearer thinking and less need for outside approval.
“I rebound much faster with my wife, and our arguments are fewer and farther between.”
The deeper shift
“My confidence, certainty and internal monologue show up differently. I’m not a different person, but that person is more free in the new environment.”
What’s next
Tyler now leads as a CEO. He also measures himself by a second scorecard.
“People around me know me as a dad of four, and those close to me see me as a great dad.”
“Tobi helps you identify how to win at home just as much as you are winning at work, and build your ‘career’ as a dad, a husband and a friend.”
